The Glasshouse

May in the glasshouse

Dearest Daughter of God,

Let Him take that off your shoulders. The load that has been weighing you down. It was never yours to carry to begin with…

the glasshouse

Leave those burdens by the door. You won’t need them here. Relax your shoulders, your jaw, your hands. Settle into the glasshouse, the place He longs to meet with you.

He sees you. All the things you’ve been juggling, each time you’ve tried to sustain yourself and do things in your own strength.

He sees you and He’s with you.

“Daughter, let it go,” He whispers over you. “And give it to Me.”

Every anxious thought. Every item on our to-do list. Every person and project. One by one, He asks us to lay them at His feet.

“There now,” He says softly, “doesn’t that feel better?”

He invites you to sit with Him in the stillness. While petals slowly unfurl and bloom around you. He invites you to be still in His presence.

He knows you have much to do. He knows there are Kingdom assignments He has called you to. But, not without His strength.

“Remember, you are not alone, Daughter. You were never meant to do this without me. Few things are needed. Or indeed, only one…”

Together, we sigh, because we realise, it’s true.

“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Luke 10:41-42 (NIV)
