A New Season

Life rarely stands still. As they say in motherhood, the days seem long but the years fly fast.

A dear fellow mummy writer, with children older than mine, recently affirmed how every season of motherhood is hard, but each season is also so rewarding. A blessing. I couldn’t agree more. For although toddler-hood has its challenges, I wouldn’t trade the joy of his little world for anything. Each season is beautiful in its own way.

The seasons we have travelled through as Daughters of Love & Light thus far have likewise been beautiful yet challenging. And of course, there is the spiritual battle raging daily and a very real enemy who tries to distract, dissuade, and disarm. Whether we are ministering to our children or to others – because motherhood is a ministry in its own right – we are going to experience challenges and the flaming arrows of the enemy. Fortunately, however, by the grace of God we have our own set of weapons. Our own armour of light. We have the fire of the Spirit of God within us. And the enemy cannot stand against us when God is for us.

As God’s Word says, there is a season for everything. There is a time for quietness and reflection. But then, a time to arise and proclaim. A time to let others see the flame burning bright in us.

For DOLL Ministries, there was a time of nurturing and learning with the DOLL young writers’ group. A time for refreshment and healing with the Wellspring Women’s Retreat. A time for many voices with the Daughters of Love & Light Blog…

And, recently, a time of waiting. Waiting and praying. And then watching for what Jesus would do next…

‘… a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak…’ ECCLESIASTES 3:6-7

I sensed Him telling me this was the time to speak. To arise. A time to put aside the distractions or lackluster habits and chase after Jesus with hearts on fire.

It might be the middle of winter here in Australia, but it won’t stop the Lord from doing a new thing. He is bringing the type of fire into the hearts of women that only He can. A new season is coming into fiery bloom for DOLL Ministries and we are so excited to see what the Lord will do. Because it’s all Him.

“God’s plan for you is to move you into a position of impact by infusing you with truth and employing you in prayer. You don’t need to be a genius to do it. You don’t need to learn ten-dollar words and be able to spout them with theological ease. You just need to bring your honest, transparent, available—and, let’s just say it—your fed-up, over-it, stepped-on-your-last-nerve self, and be ready to become fervently relentless. All in His name.”

Are you tired of the same old thing? Join us on this adventure with Jesus and let’s discover this new season together.

‘Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.’ ISAIAH 43:19 (NIV)
